Charley Martin challenges the aerial ball
Two late goals by McLean squashed any hopes the Falcons had for winning their first state title. The Lady Falcons went up early in the first 5 minutes when a blast by Charley Martin hit the post and rebounded off a defender into the goal. Five minutes later McLean tied it up on a score off a crossed ball from the right. The teams would go into the half tied 1-1. Jessie Klamut would score in the 58th minute off an assist from Lauren Muncy to put the Falcons ahead 2-1. A controversial penalty kick and caution to goalkeeper Rachel King tied it up 2-2 in the 68th minute. The game winner for McLean was scored in the 75th minute leaving the Falcons only 5 minutes to force an overtime. Despite pushing players forward and quick play by the Falcons, time ran out.
